Let's face it, life for everyone is full of challenges. Media influences can be extremely overwhelming, and unfortunately, it's not always positive. Teens today are especially bombarded with superficial messages and have grown up in a society that encourages instant gratification.
Impact Student Ministry hopes to teach teens that in the midst of challenges, questions and temptations, there is an anchor available to them...Jesus Christ. And that even they, with God's guidance, have the potential to make a positive impact in the lives of others.
We welcome everyone who is in 6th through 12th grade, and we want everyone to know that when they come, they are entering a Christ-centered environment full of trust and compassion. Everyone is welcome, just as they are. There are no membership fees of any kind, nor is membership required. And while we encourage everyone to attend as many activities as possible, there is never a required commitment. We understand busy schedules and do our best to accommodate as needed. For those students in need of community service hours, there are always ways to earn hours at many of the events held at the church. Why "18-2-Life"?
Turning 18 is without doubt, a "life-defining" moment. It's that official shift from childhood into adulthood, when we're all ultimately responsible for making our own decisions. It's also a time when many young adults begin to really question their faith. Does God really exist? Why do bad things happen if God is all about love? Why do I feel like I'm floundering? With those questions in mind, we've created a small group ministry for those young adults aged 18-28, who are interested in learning about God and faith, and how it all fits together with everything happening in the world today.
